Have You Commented?

Commenting makes a difference says Jess Peterson, U.S. Cattlemen’s Association Executive Vice President

There’s a comment I often hear from friends when they asked why they are actively involved. “You cannot complain if you aren’t willing to do something.” So, I’m asking … have you commented? USDA Labeling Comment Period Ends Dec. 26. I know many South Dakotans care about truth in labeling. Consumers and livestock producers alike want to ensure that cell-cultured/petri-dish protein is not labeled as meat. We all have a right to know what we’re eating. However, when I checked the USDA comment website today, only 239 individuals, in the ENTIRE NATION have sent comments. Are you one of the 239? If not, let’s do something about it. Visit this link: https://www.regulations.gov/document?D=FSIS-2018-0036-0001. There is a Comment Now button in the upper right corner, click on it and just follow the directions. Now, if at anytime you’re confused, please call our office and our staff will be more than willing to help 605-352-6761. Also, if you have a minute, please let our congressional leaders know how you feel.
