Rural Lobbyist: A Farmers Union Bill Tracker Update

This week was about average for the beginning weeks of the legislative session. A number of the committees took care of department bills and other taskforce related bills. Below is an update of bills Farmers Union is keeping an eye on.
House Ag and Natural Resources: Passed: HB 1075- An act to revise the area for certain open units where nonresident waterfowl licenses are issued.
HB 1010-An act to revise certain provisions relating to the development of park and recreational improvements on lands leased to the Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
HB 1011- An act to repeal certain obsolete and unnecessary statutes concerning game preserves and refuges.
*All three bills were passed on the House floor and will most likely be assigned to the Senate Ag committee.
Senate Ag and Natural Resources Passed: SB 3- An act to revise the income criteria for determining if property is classified as agricultural land for property tax purposes.
*As of writing of this update the bill currently awaits a vote on the Senate floor. Senate State Affairs Passed: SB 56- An act to require legislative approval of all land acquisitions by the Department of Game, Fish, and Parks.
